Terry James VanHam, 56, of Tampa passed away October 4, 2014. He was born in Tacoma, Washington and moved here in 2000 from Ventura, California. Terry was an avid outdoorsman, skilled in many activities; he worked for GTE in California. From infancy to age 5 he had a compulsion to take things apart, knobs for stove were always missing, the TV was put in the playpen for it's protection, then for the rest of his life he became a skilled repairman of almost everything and was a handyman for many. "He was a good, honest, kind man." Terry is survived by his mother, Susan VanHam Schubert of Tampa, FL; father, James E. Van Ham of Goldendale, WA; brother, Randy Ray VanHam of Brandon, FL; niece, Launa Ray VanHam of Brandon, FL; nephews, Ray Douglas VanHam of Brandon, FL and Shannan Ray VanHam of Tampa, FL; aunts, uncles and cousins in Washington state. Memorial Service will take place Saturday, October 18th at 11:00 AM at Temple Terrace United Methodist Church, 5030 E. Busch Blvd., Temple Terrace, FL 33617. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or the Diabetes Foundation.
