Thomas John Baker Sr.,age 86, passed away December 27, 2018 At Hailey's Cove palliative care unit at the James A. Haley V.A. Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Charlevoix, Michigan and grew up in St. Louis, Michigan where he joined the Air Force to serve during the Korean War, eventually settling in Tampa at MacDill Air Force Base where he was stationed when he met his wife.He was a devout Catholic and raised a large family. He was a mechanical and electrical genius with a passion for antique and classic cars and a member of the local VFW Post.He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Margaret "Peggy" Haskins Baker.He remarried to Alice Ward. He Is also preceded in death by two of his sons ThomasBaker Jr (wife Mary Ann), & James Patrick Baker. He is survived by his wife Alice and her daughters, Kay Gundle (Greg) and Lynn Zablo as well as his brother Gilbert Baker (Wanda),His living children include Joseph Baker (Veronica ), Michael Baker (Deborah), John Matthew Baker (Donna), Mary Ann Yaney(Cliff) and Robert Baker(Carmen.) as well as 23 grand children and 31 great grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Monday, Dec 31st at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church,
2510 E. Hanna Ave, Tampa FL 33610. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery with military honors presented by MacDill Air Force Base Honor Guard

The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec 30th at MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N. Florida Avenue, Tampa
