Tonya McGriff-Stice, age 52, of Tampa, Florida, passed away February 8, 2023 at AdventHealth Hospital in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

Tonya was born October 5, 1970 in Nashville, Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Later, she earned her Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) professional certification. Tonya was a Manager of Talent Acquisition at Paychex with a focus on Information Technology.

Tonya had a passion for life, building strong relationships with friends and colleagues. She carried herself with timeless sophistication, yet was always approachable, kind and caring. She was the eternal optimist; leveraging her faith in God, she found the positive in everything. Even when things looked down, she found ways to find laughter and make those around her feel better. Her hobbies included traveling, movies, music, fashion, reading and cooking.

Tonya McGriff-Stice is survived by her husband of 20 years, Louis Stice, of Tampa and her daughter Sloane Stice. She was the third daughter of the late Dr. James E. McGriff, Jr. and Ruth C. McGriff. She is survived by her sisters Michelle McGriff and Yolando McGriff- Chatman, Brothers-in-law David M. Chatman and Karl Stice, mother-in-law Alana Stice, nephew Christopher McGriff and niece Imani Chatman- Williams.

In lieu of a funeral service, her family has decided to have small celebrations of her life by visiting friends and family around the country. Her love of travel and exploration of new experiences is continued by her husband and daughter.
