Violet Mary Scott was born on September 26, 1932 in Ireland and died peacefully On August 23, 2018. Violet married the love of her life, James Heatley in Toronto, Canada in 1954. She is survived by her devoted daughter Dawna Andrews, husband David and beloved grandson Scott Andrews. She is also survived by her loving sister Edith, brother Harry and nieces and nephews in Ireland.
Violet Heatley lived life to the fullest, never met a stranger, laughed often and loved fully. Violet enjoyed a fruitful, fulfilling career. She worked as a nurse while in Ireland. She would then work as an administrative assistant in Canada and the US until her retirement.
One of Violet's proudest moments was in 1972 in Kentucky when the family of three would become US citizens. Violet and Jim truly lived the American dream, coming to America with little education and mere pocket change. She was thrilled to see her daughter and grandson achieve even greater career success, which was due to her sacrifices.
Later in life, Violet relished her time at the Temple Terrace Senior Center, where she enjoyed friendly competition and met many new friends whom she absolutely adored. Violet would not want anyone to be sad or mourn her passing. She would instead prefer that we all reminisce over our fondest memories of her with a toast of her favorite; Bailey's Irish cream. Cheers Violet!
