William (Bill) Byers, 86, long time resident of Temple Terrace, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in Richmond Texas. Private burial will be at 11 AM Thursday, June 1 at Florida National Cemetery with Kerry Keenan officiating. Public memorial will be Thursday evening at 7 PM at the Temple Terrace Church of Christ with Tim Morris officiating.
Bill was born in Mitchell, Indiana June 8, 1930, the son of Perry and Margaret Byers. Mr. Byers was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from the Coast Guard as a civilian employee. He served his Lord and fellow saints at the Temple Terrace Church of Christ as both a deacon and elder. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty of 60 years. His survivors include sons, Tim and Ann Byers of Richmond Texas, Roy and Roxana Byers of Sugar Land Texas; a sister, Mary Alice Dillman and her husband Gene of Mitchell Indiana; grandchildren Sheena and husband Jared Leggett of Palmetto Florida, Jared Byers of Tomball Texas and Daphne Byers of Sugar Land Texas. He was loved by his nieces and nephews as well as all who knew him and will be sorely missed, but we are confident he is with our Lord and Savior.
