William "Billy" Morales, 68, passed away on October 13, 2016 at the Florida Hospital of Connerton in Land O'Lakes, Florida. He was born in Santiago, Chile on October 24, 1947. He entered the Chilean Army at 17 years old, and later moved to Brooklyn, NY at the age of 23 in January 1971. While living in Brooklyn, his favorite place to hang out was on Brighton Beach, where part of his remains will be scattered. He loved cooked and eating Italian food, especially pizza. He worked at Angelo's Pizzeria in Brooklyn as a pizza maker. Later, he worked for Temco Services Industries in Manhattan, NY as a high-rise window washer. He lived in Bridgeton, NJ for a short amount of time and settled down in Tampa, Florida in 1981. There, he obtained his CDL license. He worked as a truck driver for MacMillan Bloedel, a Canadian forestry company, driving flatbed trailers hauling lumber. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, building furniture and riding his bike. He always enjoyed gardening fruits and vegetables, reading books about military, war, mafia and Italian cookbooks. He was a fan of old Italian music, classic 70's and 80's rock music.
He is survived by his daughter Lesly Morales, son Sean Morales, sister Sylvia Morales Novoa, mother Sylvia Novoa Castillo, niece Claudia Lima Morales, numerous cousins and relatives who are located in Chile, New York and Florida. His last residence at Florida Gulf Coast Apartments is where he made good friendships with people who truly cared and loved him. He was a generous and funny guy. He will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will take place 7:00 PM Thursday, Oct 20th at the chapel of MacDonald Funeral Home. Family will visit with friends one hour prior.
