Wilma Joan Prince Lattimore, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Valrico, Florida on September 22, 2018. She was born in Marion County, Indiana on May 18, 1929 to parents Howard Prince and Ruby Ford Prince. She graduated from Franklin High School. Joan lived most of her life in the area developed by her father, Prince's Lakes Indiana.
Her first job was for her father as a bookkeeper and later as secretary for Brown County Lake Corporation. Joan and her former husband, John D. Lattimore, owned and operated Lattimore and Sons Marina at Prince's Lakes from 1966 to 1974. She retired from the Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners as a supervisor of the field reps in 1989. Joan's greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well as genealogy, reading and writing.
Joan is survived by daughter, Carol Buckner; son, Ron (Cathy) Lattimore; sister, Carolyn Prince Williams; grandchildren, Troy Buckner, Alicia Lattimore, Nick (Erica) Lattimore, and Evan (Liz) Lattimore; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Nora, and Cole;and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Terry and Joel Lattimore; granddaughter, Shannon Buckner; sister, Ruby Alice Brown; and brothers, Marlin and Donald Prince.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Indiana at a future date.
